TELEKO Company has been licensed to broadcast digital radio and multimedia services in the Czech Republic.

TELEKO, s.r.o. has succeeded in five tenders and been awarded rights to use radio frequencies that will provide regional networks of terrestrial Digital Radio Broadcasting – T-DAB. The winner of the tenders from the Czech Telecommunication Office competitions held at the end of 2010, has enabled the launch of regular radio and digital multimedia broadcasting in DAB, DAB + and DMB. TELEKO will soon provide a modern form of radio broadcasting and multimedia covering approximately forty-one percent of the population of the country, especially in the Regions of Hradec Kralove, Liberec, Ustí nad Labem, Moravia-Silesia and South Moravia.

Digital Radio DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) delivers to the listener a significant expansion of program choice, increased sound quality and will deliver various supporting multimedia applications for the radio broadcaster providing new opportunities to reach listeners in other targeted areas.

Multimedia applications DMB (Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) brings the car passenger on-line information such as date of arrival, departure, road conditions or warning messages, news headlines and many other applications.

DMB also allows TV broadcasts to mobile receivers.

The TELEKO Company has been operating for 13 years in the field of FM radio broadcasting and since 2004 has been intensively engaged in the roll-out of digital radio broadcasting. To date it has managed to implement a number of test transmissions in various cities in the Czech Republic. The company is the only Czech member of the international organization World DMB Forum (more: www.worlddab.org) and actively participates in promoting this type of digital radio broadcasting throughout the world.
